- DataInputStream
- DataOutputStream
DataInputStream and DataOutputStream are streams that enable applications to read or write primitive Java data types by wrapping an underlying byte stream. For file streams, these underlying streams are FileInputStream and FileOutputStream. Both the java.io.DataInputStream and java.io.DataOutputStream classes contain a large number of methods for reading and writing the primitive Java data types. DataInputStream and DataOutputStream are examples of filter streams.
